Not unlike many college students, i like to drink. Not so much physically, i just like the taste of my prescious bud light and jager bombs. But when you mix that with driving it is a cocktail of catostrophy and it is like a chain of bad events unravel.
One cool fall night in August of 2009 I made the decision of drinking with my prescription medicine. Inevitably I ended up in a car collision and was pretty seriously injured and minor injury to the driver in front of me. Unfortunaly, I was not wearing a seatbelt and had 240 pounds heading directly towards the windshield. Thank the person I hit was able to drive home but I went to the ER for a major head injury and also some torn mucsles in my ribs. Turns out that I hit the windshield with such force I sustained two bruises on my brain.
Durnig this whole process I had agreed to let police officers get samples of my blood.
Well, in mid Aug. my first court date rolls around my alcohol level isn't even at the legal limit.
While awaiting my drug levels to arrive I get pulled over yet again for DUI in between the middle and end of Dec. This time I did blow over the legal limit. But unfortunatly they found my cousins gun in the glove box, which he does have a permit for. Safe to say I went to jail that night.
To catch you up speed, my cousin is scheduled to graduate EKU this May with a degree in criminal law. He is interning at the police station with high hopes of becoming an officer. Well due to the fact that I pulled drunk in his car with a pistol in it, he came with in an inch of losing it all.
Well court rolls back around in Jan. and I get convicted of two DUI first and have fourteen days worth of weekends to serve as well as fines and lawyer fees out the ass.
Due to these weekends in jail I had to drop a class and have been struggling to stay afloat in the rest of my classes.
Because I about cost my cousin his career we parted ways by Feb. first and got seperate pads.
From now on, if I ever want to drink and drive i will stay at home and play a video game.
